Callaway Logan begins her Second season as the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at St. Mary’s University. Logan spent four seasons at St. Thomas University in Miami, FL.
Logan made an immediate impact to the team who previously finished 8-14 overall and second to last in the conference in 2011. In her first season she led the Bobcats to a 16-7 (.696) overall record and a second-place finish in the Sun Conference tournament. For her efforts, Mefford was named the Coach of the Year for The Sun Conference and her players netted two first-team All-Conference honors, the Newcomer Player of the Year award and an AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention. During the regular season, the Bobcats snapped eighth ranked Embry-Riddle's conference consecutive set wins streak at 64 with a set win.
In 2013, for the second straight season, Logan lead the Bobcats to the Sun Conference Championship match. Her players were recognized by the Sun Conference earning two First Team All Conference honors and one Second Team honor. Logan also had one player named to the AVCA All-Southeast Regional Team.
In 2014 Coach Logan led the Bobcats to a 23-8 record (.742), while posting a 13-1 conference record and finishing first place for the regular season in The Sun Conference. This was the first time STU finished first in the regular season since 2001. In tournament play, Coach Logan led the team to a runner-up finish in the conference tournament, boasting six players receiving All-Conference recognition. Two players were each placed on the First Team, Second Team and Honorable Mention All-Conference teams. Logan also had one player named to the AVCA-All Southeast Honorable Mention Team. Coach Logan's team received votes in the NAIA polls for eight straight weeks, with the team's highest recognition coming from the Bobcats breaking #20 ranked Embry-Riddle's 76-game conference winning streak. This streak was the longest active streak in NAIA history until the Bobcats victory. Coach Logan also secured the 2014 Coach of the Year Award from The Sun Conference.
In 2015 Logan led her team to a 23-10 overall record (.697) and a 10-2 record in The Sun Conference. Her team finished second place regular season. She coached two First-Team All Conference Players, three Second Team, one Honorable Mention player and The Sun Conference Player of the Year. She also had a player named to the AVCA Southeast All Regional team and Honorable Mention All American. Four players were placed on the academic all conference team and one named to the Daktronics NAIA Scholar athlete team.
Before arriving at St. Thomas, Logan spent three seasons as the head coach at Oldham County High School in Buckner, Ky. In her first year, Logan’s team advanced to the Elite Eight in the school’s first-ever Kentucky State Tournament appearance. For her accomplishments in her inaugural season at Oldham County, she was named Kentucky’s Region 8 Coach of the Year. In her three years at OCHS, she complied an 85-25 record (winning percentage of .773) leading her team to two district and two regional finals winning one district and one regional championship. She finished her stay at OCHS with the team ranked 11th in the state, the highest ranking in school history.
Logan also coached for two years at Alabama Juniors and one year at KIVA, one of the top club volleyball programs in the nation. The Louisville, Ky native began her volleyball career playing Division I at Samford University from 2003-2006. She was an outside hitter and libero and ranked third in Career Digs and third in Single Season Digs in the Samford record books.
Logan graduated from Samford in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism/Mass Communications and also graduated from University of the Cumberlands in 2010 with a
Master’s in Education. Logan resides in San Antonio with her husband Jason and daughters Addalyn (18 months) and Rylee (5 months).
